Asylum - Saturday Night!

Hello my peoples! After months spent touring in New York, Philly, Prince George's Correctional Facility, The Sapperstein Bar Mitzvah, Outer and Inner Mongolia, and ending it all with a 38 city radio junket, we are finally back in DC (ok, at least 10% of that is actually true). We're playing one of our favorite DC bars, Asylum in Adams Morgan. The show will start around 9 PM and go until we run out of songs to play. Speaking of songs, we've added a few new ones since our last show there...just for you. And we might even have some free stuff to give away?? I know, we're too good to you. Married? Me? No, no I'm single. Why do you ask?

Asylum is located in Adams Morgan at:
2471 18th Street, NW
Washington, DC 20011
202.319.9353
Closest Metro: Woodley Park Zoo - Red Line

I almost forgot, get there early. Seriously, I was there two Saturdays ago, and beer was a quarter. Or half of Fity Cent, if you like that rap music fad. Plus, the drunker you are, the better we sound....and look!

Continental NYC

We're heading back to NYC this weekend to play the Continental. This is an 18 and over show, and we'll take the stage around 8:30 pm. If you're going to be in the city, or feel like a road trip, let me know! I could always use a roadie, a groupie, professional hand model, etc.

Whether it's Iggy Pop, Patti Smith or the Ramones (in various incarnations) playing sometimes announced more often not, Continental has been home for superstar bands and also a breeding ground for local or touring "Buzz Bands" looking for a record deal. A combination of its "State of the Art" sound system, great location and an excellent staff (the owner is always on hand to charm you at the door.) – Continental is proud to be at the forefront of supporting the scene, and the scene supporting the club.

CONTINENTAL is located at
25 Third Avenue (between St. Marks Place & 9th St.)
New York, NY 10003
(212) 529-6924

Mmm...Groundhog Cupcakes!

I know I'm not alone when I say my favorite holiday of the year is Feb 2nd...Groundhog Day! Well here's something fun, and a little disturbing: Groundhog Cupcakes!

• Baked cupcake
• Almond Joy candy
• White frosting
• White jelly beans
• Black decorators' gel
• Watermelon slice candy
• Brown M&M's Minis
• Chocolate cookie

Step 1: Remove a piece of cake the width of an Almond Joy candy from the center of a baked cupcake. Set the candy upright in the hole, then spread a layer of white frosting on the cupcake. (Editor's Note: Almond Joy may be replaced by Ted Nugent's Home Style Groundhog Jerky).

Step 2: For the groundhog's eyes, trim the ends from a white jelly bean, stick them in place with frosting, then dot them with black decorators' gel. Add a tiny triangle cut from a watermelon slice candy for a nose, brown M&M's Minis for ears and cheeks, and a tiny rectangular piece of white jelly bean for teeth. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumbs around the partially emerged groundhog, and he's ready to greet his fans.

The Loft in Fredericksburg

After Philly, we're home for a day, then head down to Fredericksburg on Friday the 27th, to play The Loft. This show will start around 9:00 PM, and go until the cows say Moo.

If you can't make it to Philly, head on down to Fredericksburg's Finest Music venue. It's a short trip down 95. Everyone that makes this show will receive a coupon for one free hour of Creeper Love*

*Not to be combined with any other offers. Void in Montana.

The Loft and Fredericks can be found in the historic district of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Located near the intersection of William Street and Princess Anne Street, The Loft is directly over Frederick's Restaurant at 1005 Princess Anne Street.

We wanted to take a moment, and wish everyone on this list a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I really don't know how to spell any of the other holidays, so that's why they're not listed. We hope you all have a great Year of the Dog!

And while we're at it, here is our gift to you. A little home remedy hangover cure. Yeah, I know it probably won't work, but it's the thought that counts, right? It's better than me saying crap like the best cure is not drinking in the first place. Yeah, like that really works!

Aunt Emma's Hangover Cocktail

Ingredients -
1 large can of tomato juice
3 Tablespoons vinegar
1 lemon
4 slices of onion
3 Tablespoons of sugar
4 stalks of celery
2 teaspoons of Tabasco sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Clearly, this is just a Bloody Mary. Might as well as add the Vodka while you're at it...

 Winter whirlwind!
Hey kids, JP here:

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on what, when and where we're up
to before year's end.

We're hitting 4 hotspots in a row, starting this weekend in Fredericksburg, VA
on November 25th, where we'll be at the Colonial Tavern ALLLLLLLL night long!

Next stop is in our nation's HQ: Washington, DC where we're at Staccato on the
3rd. Adam's Morgan is awesome this time of year!

After that, on the 10th of December, we're at the legendary Jaxx nite club, in
Springfield, VA. We're bringing a monster set to end out the night here, so
don't miss out!

Lastly, we're hitting the world famous Continental Club in the Big Apple on
December 18th. This is a very intimate set, and we hit the stage at 7:30
sharp, so DO NOT be late!

Now then, let me take a second here to bring a MASSIVE welcome to bear on
Brian Highsmith, who has taken his post behind the skins for us. Brian brings
a ferocity to the music that WILL NOT QUIT, which makes for an amazing time on
stage, no matter the venue.

That's about it guys. Keep your eyes locked here for more date announcements,
and all the latest news, and keep checking www.jpcorwyn.com for even MORE dirt
on the band and our doings!

Happy nationalslaughterabird Day!

songs may be featured, but rest assured, as soon as we get them, so will you!

We've got a good amount of shows coming up here in the DC Metro area as we gear up for the Fall Tour. Check out www.jpcorwyn.com for a full list of shows. We're updating the schedule a few times a week at this stage, so you'll want to check often!

These stations are ready to receive the barrage of phone calls and emails from fans across the globe, all with the same message: Play it!

Most of these stations can be heard via the web, and I, myself, have heard the song played on several of them thus far. There are LOTS of other stations which have added the song to their play lists, but no reported air-play for it as of this week. More stations will be added around mid-month when I get my next update from the radio promo folks over at Tinderbox .

ALSO: Auditions have been going well, and we're almost finished. Just need one ore player and we're rollin'! As soon as we fill out the last spot, I'll introduce you guys to the band. They'll even have E-mail addresses @ jpcorwyn.com so you can give'em some love. As soon as this last piece is fitted into the puzzle, we'll start booking the tour for this autumn.  Meanwhile, spread the word... we're on the air!

Thanks for all the electricity!

  April 29, 2005
Keep on the lookout for DX6, DecentXposure's compilation CD of unsigned artists and bands! I Will Wait will be here too! w00t!! Don't these guys rock!?  May 1st On May, thanks to the boys at Tinderbox, 17th, I Will Wait will hit 300 radio stations nationwide! Yes, you heard me rightly! No, I didn't stutter! Stations to be announced by May 11th

TOUR!!!!! Yep, you got it! By either late summer or early autumn of 05, we, that is I and the new band will be on tour cross-country in support of the radio campaign! Will we be in a town or city near you? Here's hoping! It all depends on what stations play I Will Wait hot and heavy, and get lots and lots of requests, and what stations are lame and don't keep us in regular rotation.

How you can help:

When you get the list of stations, CALL THEM! Request the living hell out of "I Will Wait" and we'll be on our way to a pub or festival near you by year's end!

  April 24, 2005
I Will Wait will be on Alternative Addiction's twice annual Compilation CD with none other then Collective Soul! Keep on the lookout on Alternative Addiction for news on the release. It should be very, very soon.

  April 20, 2005
YES!! Thanks to your tremendous efforts, "I Will Wait" hit Alternative Addiction's Unsigned Top 10 at #6 this month! Way to go guys! You rule! NOW then, we have to build on that start. This, of course, is where the ring tones are helpful. Sing along! you know the words! "VOTE-VOTE-VOTE-VOTE-VOTE-VOTE!" Alternative Addiction is just waiting for fans like you to point and click "I Will Wait" straight up to #1! Let's see if we can't smoke this last month's #s and keep climbing the charts!

  April 5th
GO HERE: Decent Xposure
This is an excellent firm called DecentXposure LLC who handles promotions for unsigned acts. They've arranged <dramatic music> downloadable RINGTONES! <other, not so dramatic, but still cool music> namely, I Will Wait! Both polyphonic and real audio versions are available for download to the cell phone of your choice!

You'll need to register with them on the site, and then the wonderful folks over at DX, through the aid of modern technology harnessing the power of the atom, or squirrels, or some such scientific machinery, will beam over the ring tone<s> to your phone! It's easy, and a great way to spread the word about the music!

I'm currently fielding auditions for <gasp> The Band! ,<more dramatic music> I anticipate, at the rate things are going, being out on the road making lots and lots of noise by the end of May! w00t!
